Description

Hi,

currently the suffix for binaries can be freely chosen, but configure uses the {,_mpi}{,_d} suffix for libraries.

It would be a lot nicer if one were able to choose freely the library suffix, too, as this would facilitate having debugging versions of the libraries installed alongside with the normal assembly loop enabled versions.

Also, a configure option such as --noassemblyloops would be nice, which would disable support for all assembly loops; now one has to provide a full list of which assembly optimizations to disable.

In CMake now you can specify binary and library suffixes separately, and we'll remove automake support anyway.
